Learning First Aid and getting trained to do CPR are essential first steps if you want to become a healthcare professional.
However, even if you don’t have plans of becoming a nurse aide, or allied health practitioner, First Aid and CPR are still worth learning. It gives you the ability to respond to medical emergencies while professional medical help is still on its way. Administering CPR or First Aid can buy the patient some time and prevent medical issues from worsening.

Professional healthcare worker received BLS certificate from American Heart Association, valid for 2 years. Non healthcare professionals will receive a certificate in First Aid from American Heart Association, also valid for 2 years.
