Start your path towards becoming a certified EKG Technician! With this job, you can help heart patients in hospitals, clinics, urgent care centers, and other settings.
EKG Technicians are cardiac technologists and they are tasked to operate equipment that measures a patient’s heart performance.
Basic Skills:
Students will learn to accurately record the patient’s heart rate using the electrocardiogram machine, endorse EKG test data to physicians/nurses, interpret basic EKG, administer Holter monitoring tests, and perform stress tests.

Certification:
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT), Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) are the certification exams offered by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). You can also get a certification under the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) of New Jersey as a Certified EKG Technician.
